English Presentations for Academic Purposes
This course is designed for graduate students who seek training and/or improvement in their English-language presentation skills for academic purposes. The focus is on oral presentations for conferences and professional events. However, the course content will be applicable to all forms of presentation.
Course Content:
- Designing and structuring academic presentations for general and expert audiences
- Designing and using effectively supporting media (i.e., PowerPoint, handouts, or realia)
- Training a presenter’s voice techniques
- Implementing persuasive language strategies
